Ministry
What is the purpose of Shepherd Racing Ventures Ministries?
We are a unique ministry in the fact that we use the testimony of NASCAR driver Morgan Shepherd to evangelize to a group of people who may otherwise never go to a church to hear the message of Jesus Christ.
There are many people who will attend a NASCAR event who may not be interested in hearing the gospel from a preacher or anyone affiliated with a particular church. What they are interested in is an ever-growing sport - NASCAR.
Because of that interest they are familiar with the drivers, owners and teams. It is through these interests that we have the opportunity to participate in track activities and Morgan Shepherd is able to share his testimony. If you were to set up a tent at the track and have preaching these people would not attend, therefore you would not have the opportunity to deliver the hope of Jesus Christ to them.
Victory in Jesus Racing Ministries has been able to partner with Motor Racing Outreach and Raceway Ministries to participate in concerts, campground outreach programs and track events. Through Morgan Shepherd and the Racing With Jesus race car we are able to witness to race fans at the track using a less traditional approach.
We also participate in outreach at churches. Morgan Shepherd and the team’s car has taken part in Vacation Bible Schools, community outreach events, wild game dinners, men’s days, worship services and more.
To be able to participate in these types of ministry programs we request donations to Victory in Jesus Racing Ministries which is a 501(c)(3) corporation. Your donations are tax-deductible as a charitable contribution.
All outreach events that we offer at the track are always provided free of charge; however, off the track we look at each individual request for an appearance on an individual basis. We have accepted outreach/ministry opportunities free of charge, by love offering and by requested set amounts. It is not about making a profit, it is about the ministry of the situation and we look at each request very closely.
We also are involved in fundraising projects. Some current projects underway include:
*Purchasing a van for a 13-year-old girl named Morgan Little who has Cerebral Palsy. Her family needs a newer model van. The van that they have is 21 years old and needs major mechanical repairs.
*Healing Ministries which will be partnering with us at the track. Our team member, Walter Tollett, leads this ministry which provides music and entertainment for outreach events. We are trying to raise funds to help pay for music and sound equipment the group needs to conduct trackside ministry programs.
Motor Racing Outreach’s ministry trailer which needs donations to pay for a trailer that can easily be set up at events at the track to allow for the hosting of various types of ministry related events at each race track venue.
As you can see our purpose is to take advantage of the opportunities which God has provided through NASCAR racing to evangelize, help existing ministries and/or other individuals to reach a common goal - showing the love of Jesus Christ.
If you are interested in making a donation to any of the individual fundraisers we are participating in please make your check payable to Shepherd Racing Ventures Ministries and note what project you would like to support.
May God bless you for prayerfully considering our ministry as an extension of your service to the Lord.
